How To Sing Better 5 Quick Tips

1. Train your ear- learn an instrument - I learned how to play the bass before I became a singer. When I was able to listen to a song and play it back on the bass just by listening I was on  my way to becoming a better singer.

2. Hydrate - Drink plenty of water - Don't sing with a dry throat, the vocal chords need lubrication and it takes about twenty minutes for the water you drink to actually reach the chords. Girgling water is about the only way to get instant lubrication to the chords.  Another big part of staying hydrated is avoiding caffiene. I stopped drinking pop and noticed a huge difference in the quality of my voice. It took about ten days for the difference to be felt the first time I quit. Now it is no longer a habit so if I decide to drink a few glasses over the course of a month it does not affect me. Also forget about drinking beer.

3. Oral Hygene - Use Mouth wash that does not contain Alcohol and of course floss and brush as dentists recommend.

4. Nasal health = Throat Health - I use xlear nasal spray and the netty pot on a reugular basis. If I feel something coming on I use Airborne as an added defense.

5. Practice what you can sing well and expand from there. Realize you probably can't sing everything under the sun, get to know your voice and be familiar with its limitations.

You can now hear my audible poetry, and I not only added several individual bits of the Not Quite Radio recording, I placed the entire work of art for any one with the patience to listen to the whole thing. That's not all I've been up to, check out my zazzle panel, I'm adding product on a weekly basis, just recently I made a shirt, mouse pad, and coffe mug design to go with my song Sleepin On The Job which will be available soon from Amazon mp3. Sleepin On the Job is a funny tune and is sure to inspire some laughs around the office. Download the song from Amazon mp3 and buy some Sleepin on The Job merchandise from my zazzle store, your co-workers will love you for it.

Of course I am still in pursuit of making some great original music, I installed a new sound card so I can load a drum software and I will soon have great sounding drums at my disposal. Well that sums up a lot of work in a mere paragraph, Be glad I left out the pain.

Until next time....Take Care and don't forget to visit my home page often and give my tunes a listen every now and then. You might even find yourself playing a neat little game on my music page.

Hello 2009

Alright 2008 was a good starting point for the direction I'm headed. In the past I've been too pig headed about getting an all original band together. In the area where I live it's hard to find the right people to put a cover band together let alone an original band. I was working with a few great musicians earlier in the year but I've learned when searching for people to work with their personality has to match, not just the musicianship.

So that being said I swallowed some pride and now I'm singing for a hard rock band called Gypsy Road. We are currently in the rehearsal phase though we are real close to booking shows. Right now our set consists of eighties commercial rock. We're doing songs from artists like Bon jovi, Def Leopard, Cinderella, Skid Row, Tesla, AC/DC, Van Halen, etc.... basically all hits that everyone knows so there will be no excuses for the crowd not to be singing along. Practices are sounding great and are lot of fun even though we are working hard. The thing I like about this band is that rehearsal is rehearsal. We doing nothing except work on the songs for 5 hours at a time with an occasional break. When we come out I think people are going to be really impressed

Finding a competent drummer with the desire and time to work on tunes and record has been a major road block for my progress. I love technology!!  The flood gates of productivity that are about to open. With my purchase of superior drummer pro, my god the drums in this program sound so authentic that writing real songs with great drums is now a reality. Of course there is a learning curve but I'm going to master it.

Before I get too involved in with my solo cd's I have a major project to take on that I am extremely excited about. I am sinigng and writing lyircs and melodies for a Medlodic Rock CD featuring all the music written by my good friend and the reason for my new found direction Mr. Danny Newman. This CD is going to be levels above anything I've done up to this point. Recording has already begun and we will be laying down vocals any day. As things get done I will be sure to let everyone know.

Playing shows, recording,  selling CD'S, meeting new people, Yeah Hello 2009!!!!!!!

What is Danward

Danward can be defined as the direction of my artistic career. Sometimes it moves forward. Sometimes it moves backwards. Sometimes it looks like it's jumping from one artistic medium to another. It's kind of a paradox in that most of the time it looks like it's sitting still but I assure you it's almost always moving in ways undisclosed to public access. Yes, I've kept the majority of my true work on bits of scrap paper and in distant and near thought vaults. I've come to realize a terrible thought; I have left entirely too many things undone. I look back and think how can it be that so little has been achieved? I don't believe for a second that I'm lazy but I have a theory that my way of thinking has been my biggest hindrance. First on my hit list of incorrect thinking is production value,. I am not Hollywood nor am I am a New York city record company giant. So, stop expecting the impossible, I will make the art with the tools I have and that will determine my level of production quality. The next thing I'm changing is my time management clock. I had this right at one point in my life then I stopped keeping time. I don't have forever and little spans of fifteen minutes are enough to get something done.

The time of achievement has arrived, ready or not danward I move.
