How To Sing Better 5 Quick Tips
1. Train your ear- learn an instrument - I learned how to play the bass before I became a singer. When I was able to listen to a song and play it back on the bass just by listening I was on my way to becoming a better singer.
2. Hydrate - Drink plenty of water - Don't sing with a dry throat, the vocal chords need lubrication and it takes about twenty minutes for the water you drink to actually reach the chords. Girgling water is about the only way to get instant lubrication to the chords. Another big part of staying hydrated is avoiding caffiene. I stopped drinking pop and noticed a huge difference in the quality of my voice. It took about ten days for the difference to be felt the first time I quit. Now it is no longer a habit so if I decide to drink a few glasses over the course of a month it does not affect me. Also forget about drinking beer.
3. Oral Hygene - Use Mouth wash that does not contain Alcohol and of course floss and brush as dentists recommend.
4. Nasal health = Throat Health - I use xlear nasal spray and the netty pot on a reugular basis. If I feel something coming on I use Airborne as an added defense.
5. Practice what you can sing well and expand from there. Realize you probably can't sing everything under the sun, get to know your voice and be familiar with its limitations.
