Maybe this is still the case but with my disinterest in most of what's new, It just doesn't matter. It just doesn't matter, come on chant with me, It just doesn't matter....Okay back to the point I'm trying to make. The abandoned Bands are those that continue even though their fan base has dwindled. The music is still great and it's like they're your own personal band again. It's like wearing a cool shirt that no else has and it doesn't matter if you bought it from a thrift store and the music you're listening to while you are sporting your awesome threads can now be found in the bargain bin.

How to sing better, try different tunings

So you sound good singing your favorite song without the music playing but when you try it with the music you can't hit the notes. Problem is, the song is too high or too low for you but when you sing with out the music you are singing in a key that is comfortable for your voice. There is nothing wrong with this, there are successful singers out there singing in all kinds of different tunings, from standard or half steps down to whole steps down to where ever they sound best or different enough to be interesting. My advice is don't get frustrated, try singing the song you like in different pitches, if it's too high, lower the hurdle a little if it's too low, raise the hurdle a little. There are softwares out there that can change the pitch of a song with out changing the speed search them out and practice or maybe if you know how to tune a guitar simply use it to experiment with different tunings.
American Idol Talent In Your Home Town?

If there was an American Idol finalist from your home town would you support that person? These are questions I'm asking myself about my own website. The answers are the same as if i were going to play a show. A website should be promoted as if it were a paying gig. Tack flyers up anywhere you can , pass out business cards to friends and strangers alike, tell one tell all. I know it's hard playing to an empty club and it can be just as difficult finding motivation to post content to a website when its seems very few care, but there ain't no future if you don't try, plus it will give you an outlet of achievement to build upon. In the past I've gone stagnant for long periods of time, sometimes months as far as this website goes but I keep coming back and I've noticed a change in my attitude, the stagnant times are getting shorter.
How To Sing Better 5 Quick Tips

1. Train your ear- learn an instrument - I learned how to play the bass before I became a singer. When I was able to listen to a song and play it back on the bass just by listening I was on my way to becoming a better singer.

2. Hydrate - Drink plenty of water - Don't sing with a dry throat, the vocal chords need lubrication and it takes about twenty minutes for the water you drink to actually reach the chords. Girgling water is about the only way to get instant lubrication to the chords. Another big part of staying hydrated is avoiding caffiene. I stopped drinking pop and noticed a huge difference in the quality of my voice. It took about ten days for the difference to be felt the first time I quit. Now it is no longer a habit so if I decide to drink a few glasses over the course of a month it does not affect me. Also forget about drinking beer.

3. Oral Hygene - Use Mouth wash that does not contain Alcohol and of course floss and brush as dentists recommend.

4. Nasal health = Throat Health - I use xlear nasal spray and the netty pot on a reugular basis. If I feel something coming on I use Airborne as an added defense.

5. Practice what you can sing well and expand from there. Realize you probably can't sing everything under the sun, get to know your voice and be familiar with its limitations.

What is Danward

Danward can be defined as the direction of my artistic career. Sometimes it moves forward. Sometimes it moves backwards. Sometimes it looks like it's jumping from one artistic medium to another. It's kind of a paradox in that most of the time it looks like it's sitting still but I assure you it's almost always moving in ways undisclosed to public access. Yes, I've kept the majority of my true work on bits of scrap paper and in distant and near thought vaults. I've come to realize a terrible thought; I have left entirely too many things undone. I look back and think how can it be that so little has been achieved? I don't believe for a second that I'm lazy but I have a theory that my way of thinking has been my biggest hindrance. First on my hit list of incorrect thinking is production value,. I am not Hollywood nor am I am a New York city record company giant. So, stop expecting the impossible, I will make the art with the tools I have and that will determine my level of production quality. The next thing I'm changing is my time management clock. I had this right at one point in my life then I stopped keeping time. I don't have forever and little spans of fifteen minutes are enough to get something done.

The time of achievement has arrived, ready or not danward I move.
